On having a sense of humor.

The things we take seriously may often be far from what it actually is. We can get lost in things that don’t count such that life whizzes away and we barely even notice. We hold on to things that aren’t really important and they do nothing but weigh us down!

Life itself is such a struggle for anyone to keep taking things too serious. The best things to do sometimes is just to laugh it off. Laugh at the Situation, laugh at your self, just laugh. Life is for living abi? To be enjoyed. With. some. humor.

Having a sense of humor is the ability to let go and not take everything to heart. You don’t need to be a comedian to have a sense of humor. You just have to find that funny side of you. This helps the body relax by releasing tensions. It has some physical and mental benefits. It’s a great technique for relieving stress, anxiety and boosting your self-esteem.

Its not about cracking jokes all the time and you don’t have to be the one telling the jokes. It’s all about seeing something funny in whatever life throws at you. There’s something witty in every situation. Some form of ridiculousness. Laugh it off!

When you’re having a bad day or feeling overwhelmed, pause and think about those things that make you laugh a lot. Those things that make you happy. And just do so. Laughter is medicinal. It promotes over-all well-being.

Humor is about having something to laugh about. It brightens your day and makes you look to the brighter side. Yep, where the sun is shining. It brings some form of positivity into the situation.

We all love that person with a sense of humour don’t we? and it’s something we all should possess. Why? Because it facilitates bonding, social interactions and attraction.

But wait! Some people’s sense of humour can rather be sarcastic. Like there’s a case of emergency and everyone’s on their toes. And someone somewhere finds it convenient to laugh at that time. I think it’s okay to laugh and cool off, but you should discern when to do so, so you don’t pass as being silly. There’s a huge difference between being sarcastic and having a sense of humour.

So when next you’re feeling overwhelmed or having a bad day, look at this picture…

Remember how it feels to have that tingling sensation and just laugh your hearts out.

until next time,

Cheers to the weekend.

  1. This is a great post. You’re absolutely right, we cloud our minds with a lot of things and forget to live life itself. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Life is so much easier when you have a sense of humour. It’s great to be able to turn life’s little challenges into rainbows that colours your day, instead of darkening it.

  3. Thanks for reminding me of this…I have so much going on and when someone gets in my way, I get defensive. Over the years I have to remind myself that things aren’t that serious and there are more than one way to get things done…feels good to know I’m not in this alone.

  4. I think a sense of humour is the only thing that’s saving me from going, completely, insane 😂 although it isn’t always great, I’m usually the uncomfortable one cracking jokes at a funeral 😲
